This is very bitter! Andreas Seppi failed to qualify for the Wimbledon main draw. And in such a way that it is hardly possible.

Lukas Klein (SVK) and Andreas Seppi dueled for more than three hours in Wimbledon. Then the Slovak was the winner in the tie-break. With 6: 1, 6: 7 (3: 7), 7: 6 (7: 5), 7: 6 (7: 4), Klein prevailed 3: 1. While the number 224 in the world can be happy about entering the main draw at the classic lawn, for Seppi the tournament is over before it has really started.

The 24-year-old from eastern Slovakia didn’t give Seppi a chance in the first set, managed two beaks and grabbed the point for a 1-0 lead. After that, the Kalterer got stronger. In the tie-break, they were able to equalize 1:1 and didn’t let up afterwards either. But Klein also proved to be a tough guy who held up well. And so sentences 3 and 4 also went into overtime. Because Seppi always lost out, the 38-year-old has to say goodbye to the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament before the official start of the tournament.
