The 22-year-old defender was trained at Club Brugge, played briefly at KV Mechelen on a rental basis, and was sold to PEC Zwolle last summer. In the Netherlands, Voet made 19 appearances and one goal, but was relegated to the Kitchen Champion Division. However, he is not going to work there. For an undisclosed sum, Voet heads to Bratislava, which will compete in the (first) preliminary round of the Champions League next season as the champion of Slovakia.

“Siemen Voet is a promising player who has completed the academy of Club Brugge”, the club said. “We look forward to his arrival. He brings a future perspective, because Siemen can get even better at a young football age. We believe he will succeed at Slovan and further develop his potential. He has.”

“I am very happy with this new challenge,” said Voet. “I consider coming to Slovan as a big step in my career. I want to play for this club. Two sporting aspects attracted me: the chance to play for title and European every year. I also want to develop myself further as a player and as a person. After playing in Belgium and the Netherlands, I end up in a completely new country. I will also learn a new language. I was also very impressed with the stadium, it is really beautiful. I want to continue to grow my football and personality, contribute as much as possible to the success of the club and be a full-fledged team player.”

Slovan Bratislava announced the arrival of Juraj Kucka earlier this week. The Slovak comes from the Italian Parma.
