Baltimore Ravens defensive end Jaylon Ferguson has died at the age of 26, the team announced Wednesday.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson,” the Ravens said in a statement. “He was a kind and respectful young man with a big smile and an infectious personality. We express our sincere condolences to Jaylon’s family and friends as we mourn a life lost far too soon. »

The Ravens did not share details about Ferguson’s death.

Ferguson joined the Ravens as a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played 38 games, including 10 as a starter in three seasons, posting 4.5 quarterback sacks and picking up two fumbles.
