Never twist your ankle again – Terrein hiking shoes

Hikers most commonly injure their ankles: A study published in the German Journal for Sports Medicine shows that it hits the ankle in 40 percent of the cases. The frequent fall that follows increases the risk of further injuries. Chunky mountain boots can minimize the risk of sprains – but only if they fit properly and the lacing is constantly tightened. In addition, they hang like a log on the leg, their firm shaft inhibits the natural walking movement. The heart of the innovative shoe is on the outside of the shaft: the Betterguards technology, a kind of safety belt for joints in the shape of a mini piston (see image above). In the event of a sudden load, the innovative safety element reacts three times as fast as the muscle and immediately secures the ankle.
