The Municipality of Móstoles has announced that the summer sports colonies will have, for the first time, places for children with functional diversityfor which specialized personnel will be hired to attend to their needs while they share activities with other children.
This initiative is part of its commitment to inclusion and equality, and it also seeks to “offer a way for parents to reconcile the care of minors during the non-school period”as indicated by the Consistory in a note.
Total, 32 special places will be set up for children between 6 and 14 years old, who will be able to have fun, socialize with other minors, learn and develop different abilities while practicing sports, such as basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, badminton, athletics, games and activities in nature.
The colonies will take place from July 4 to 15 and from July 18 to 29 and In each fortnight there will be 8 inclusive places in the Villafontana sports center, and as many in the Andrés Torrejón sports center in El Soto. The schedule of the activities will go from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and there will be the possibility of registering the minor during the entire month.
In order to qualify for these places, children will have to be registered in Móstoles, be in possession of the disability card and provide a medical report that accredits the degree and type of disability, in addition to complying with the general requirements of the neighborhood regulations.
Places will be requested at the Villafontana sports center from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting next June 27, 2022 by strict order of arrival.
