In the company of more than 70 athletes from the department of Valle del Cauca, the Minister of Sports, Guillermo Herrera, welcomed the new ambassador of the portfolio program, the Colombian weightlifter and double Olympic medalist, Luis Javier Mosquera, in Sports Schools for All.
Thus, the head of the portfolio has summoned great sports figures from Colombia, so that, through their message and daily work, they can inspire young athletes to practice sports, where the social project seeks to benefit more than 33 thousand girls and boys from 531 municipalities of the national territory.
On the other hand, Minister Herrera delivered uniforms to children and adolescents, where 200 athletes belonging to badminton, boxing, judo and weightlifting schools in the municipality of Yumbo. In addition, the total investment for these schools was 153 million pesos, with the hiring of four sports trainers and a psychosocial referent who will accompany the children and their families in parenting workshops.
Similarly, by 2022, the highest sports authority, made an investment never seen before in children’s sports, more than 31 billion pesos were allocated for the creation and start-up of 605 sports schools throughout the national territory. , five of them for girls and boys with disabilities and five schools also, of ancestral practices aimed at girls and boys from indigenous communities.
