Mercato Marseille – OM would have reached an amicable agreement with Alvaro Gonzalez to terminate his contract

This is the inevitable outcome of a case that OM dragged like a ball and chain. According to RMC, the Marseille club would have terminated Alvaro Gonzalez’s contract amicably. The defender, who had long been a fan favorite, had become undesirable in the eyes of Jorge Sampaoli. And this from the start of the season. Marseille would thus have no choice but to take out the checkbook to get rid of the Spaniard. Through the voice of its communications director, Jacques Cardoze, Marseille, however, denied this information.

According RMC, the club vice-champion of France would have spent 5 million euros in total. First to give the player the equivalent of the two remaining years of contract, also to pay him the wages that the former Villarreal had agreed to collect later in order to help OM complete the loan of Amine Harit last summer.

An amount certainly not negligible, Marseille being forced to control its expenses to achieve its transfer window.

Is CR7 right to be worried? “We should have realized this last year…”
