Malaysia Open 2022 Results: Colored by Protests to Umpire, Ahsan/Hendra Win Comeback All

KOMPAS.com – Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan managed to win comeback over Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu in the last 32 of the Malaysia Open 2022.

Indonesian men’s doubles, Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan, became one of the representatives of the Red and White who appeared in the round of 32 on the second day of the badminton tournament of Malaysia Open 2022.

The men’s doubles pair ranked 137 in the world from China, Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu, will be facing Ahsan/Hendra in the last 32 of the Malaysia Open 2022.

The match between Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan vs. Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu in the round of 32 of the Malaysia Open 2022 was held on Field 2 Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, on Wednesday (29/6/2022) afternoon WIB.

The duel at the Malaysia Open 2022 this time will be the second meeting between Ahsan/Hendra and Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu.

Previously, Ahsan/Hendra, who is currently ranked third in the world, had previously played against Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu at the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships in Manila, Philippines.

As a result, Ahsan/Hendra lost two games straight to Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu in the second round of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships.

Now, Ahsan / Hendra are back in a duel against the men’s doubles of the Bamboo Curtain country.

The duel Ahsan/Hendra vs Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu immediately went fierce at the beginning of the first game. The Daddies, nicknamed Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, edged up 11-10 at the interval.

Tan / Ren then started the second game well. Fast games are their mainstay. At the interval, they won 11-9 over Ahsan / Hendra.

At that interval, Ahsan seemed to protest to umpire who made wrong decisions several times, one of which was when Ahsan/Hendra served the ball in but was declared out.

After the interval, Ahsan/Hendra tried to serve Tan/Ren’s fast game. In fact, The Daddies had gained five points in a row.

Ahsan/Hendra could retaliate for the second game with a 21-15 advantage over Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu. The match continued into the third game, aka the deciding game.

Ahsan/Hendra played solidly in the third game. Tough defense combined with ingenuity placing the ball. At the interval, The Daddies won 11-8 over Tan/Ren.

Strong defense and accuracy in placing the ball back into The Daddies’ weapons to get points.

Number by number, Ahsan/Hendra continued to get. They were finally able to end the resistance of Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu in the third game with a score of 21-14.

Reporting from BWF Score, Ahsan/Hendra took 50 minutes to beat Tan Qiang/Ren Xiang Yu in a three-game duel that ended with a score of 17-21, 21-15, and 21-14.

The results of the Malaysia Open 2022 made Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan advance to the round of 16.
