“We were more than two years without an activity like this and today we have more than 50 children in the school of basketball and a few others on the waiting list”, he says Amadeo Llorens, vice president of the legendary club Lord Cochrane that this weekend had its first massive event since the pandemic, with four basketball games.

Don Amadeo indicated that “we want to expand with children older than 15 and 17 and we have soccer in the afternoons with about 40 boys, from the age of 7. Many people called us when the pandemic was lowering the number of infections, we uploaded a lot of things on social media and it’s nice that we’re back, here in our gym.”
Emilio Donoso, player of the Sub 9 of the Lord, He expressed that “I am 9 years old and I have always liked basketball, in my family they like it a lot and my dad has taught me many things. I spend a little time in Lord, but I like to play against other schools, I entertain myself coming to train and I also had to play with my younger brother. I would like to be a basketball player or maybe a soccer player.”
Professor Jimmy Bastías stated that “the AJC school was formed in 2015, the base is children from the school American Junior of Coronel and we have a great relationship with the Lord, we visit each other. The children needed to play, meet other kids, share, and the clubs fight against cell phones, a sedentary lifestyle, because basketball teaches you values, camaraderie, it goes beyond competition.”
