The saga of the future Robert Lewandowski still ongoing. Former Poland international Artur Wichniarek was surprised that Lewandowski had “attacked” Bayern Munich.
In the midst of his contract that only has a year remaining, Lewandowski continues to press to leave Bayern. The Polish football superstar is adamant about trying a new challenge after spending most of his career in Germany. Barcelona emerged as a potential destination for Lewandowski.
However, Bayern are still holding on to Lewandowski. In the process, the 33-year-old striker then publicly revealed his desire to leave the Allianz Stadium. These comments mean that Lewandowski’s relationship with The Reds already cracked.
“I think it’s a shame what he said to his own club,” Wichniarek told Sky. “Robert Lewandowski is being given very bad advice at the moment. I highly doubt whether this is good tactical behavior from Robert.”
“I think Lewandowski and Pini Zahavi forgot that Robert had a valid contract with FC Bayern. If I were his agent, I would say: ‘Come on, let’s talk to Bayern Munich in private and see if there is a way to get out of his contract. “
Wichniarek believes Lewandowski’s desire to leave Bayern Munich cannot be separated from rumors of Erling Haaland. Bayern had joined the hunt for the young Norwegian striker before finally choosing to join Manchester City next season.
“It hurts Robert how he has been treated in the last six months, especially with regard to Haaland,” continued the former player who has played for Arminia Bielefeld and Hertha Berlin.
“Bayern claimed that they were not interested in Haaland, in the end it was revealed that Bayern had held talks. It really bothered Robert,” Wichniarek added.
