Latvian rugby-7 players experience three failures in the first stage of the European Trophy Division Championship

The Latvian national team in rugby-7 suffered three losses in the first stage of the European Trophy Division Championship on Saturday.

The Latvian national team, represented by the players of Ķekava and Garkalne clubs, conceded to the Romanian national team with 0:24, in the second game Latvian rugby players acknowledged the superiority of Ireland with 0:48, but in the third match they lost to the Danish national team with 0:26.

In group A, three victories were won by Ireland and the leader with nine points, the second place with seven points is taken by Romania. Denmark is in third place with five points, while Latvia is in the last four-team competition with three points.

The first two teams of the three groups and the two best third place winners will advance to the quarterfinals on Sunday.

The head coach of the national team is Arvis Pilenieks, but he is assisted by German specialist Karsten Zegert.
