The first day of judo at the 2022 Mediterranean Games ended with two excellent ones silver medals for Italy. The blue, after beating the European vice-champion Alberto Gaitero Martin in the quarter-finals, reached the final but was beaten by the Egyptian Mohamed Abdelmawgoud for ippon.
