Ivanova wins a silver prize in the European Weightlifting Championships

Tirana, June 2, LETA. Latvian representative Daniela Ivanova won second place in the European weightlifting championship in the weight category up to 76 kilograms on Thursday.

Ivanov lifted 222 kilograms in the amount, which is a repeated Latvian record.

The Latvian athlete started with the lifting of 91 and 94 kilograms, but in the third attempt she managed to lift 96 kilograms, which is a new Latvian record, correcting the previous one by one kilogram.

After weighing 121 kilograms in the first attempt, Ivanova lifted 126 kilograms in the second attempt, but did not handle 128 kilograms in the third attempt. The 126 kilograms previously raised were enough to take second place in the total.

The victory was won by the French representative Joseph Marie Fegee, who was superior to the other athletes. She lifted 110 kilograms when pulling and 135 kilograms when pushing. The top three was concluded by the Turkish weightlifter Dilara Uchana, who lifted 220 kilograms.

It has already been reported that Roberts Suharevs took the sixth place in the weight category up to 73 kilograms, lifting the total by 317 kilograms, while Artūrs Vasilonoks was in the seventh position in the category up to 89 kilograms.
