In Plérin, David Gautier, president of Badminton Plérinais, lets go of the steering wheel – Plérin

He had been a member of Badminton Plérinais for sixteen years, president for two and a half years after having been vice-president for several years… Professional and family reasons forced David Gautier to return his license to the Plérinais club. With a little regret, of course, but not without satisfaction. “Despite the pandemic seasons, I leave the club in good health”, he remarked, this Friday evening, at the general meeting.

A great post-covid season

And to quote a strong club of 130 members, not far from its highest numbers. A board of directors which is reinforced by five new members, “showing that it is an association which makes you want to invest”.

And more than satisfactory sporting results: “Our team 1 is going up to R2, and our team 2 will soon be playing a play-off match for a possible rise to R3. This would allow the club to present in the championship a complete pyramid from D5 to R2, at the start of the school year”.

A “dinosaur” gone under other skies

While emphasizing that “Badminton Plérinais is not an ambitious club, but which has taken its place”, he drew the line to be followed by his successor, to be elected before mid-July, highlighting the conviviality and the link between young people and competitors.

Without forgetting a word for Yannick Gaubert, the BP dinosaur. He wished this member since 1991, very invested in entertainment, a good wind under the sun of the West Indies, where he left to settle.

Practice

Due to work at the Lequier gymnasium, the Océane room will be open to members for free play, every Tuesday in July, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., before returning to their usual room in August.
