Albayrak defeated Bosnian Bozidar Vucurevic with waza-ari points and advanced to the semifinals. Albayrak defeated his opponent, France’s Tizie Gnameien, with ippon and made his name in the final. Vedat Albayrak, who defeated Italy’s Kenny Komi Bedel with waza-ari points, won the gold medal.
