Gold medal by judoka Vedat Albayrak at Mediterranean Games

In the city of Oran, Algeria, where the 19th Mediterranean Games were held, Vedat Albayrak took his place on the podium as the winner of the Games in the men’s 81-kg judo category.

Hamza Yerlikaya, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, followed the judo fights closely and conveyed his wishes for success to the judo players before the fight.

He became champion by defeating his Italian rival with waza-ari

According to the news from İHA; Vedat Albayrak started with the quarterfinal match on his way to the gold medal in the 81 kg category. Albayrak defeated Bosnian Bozidar Vucurevic with waza-ari points and advanced to the semifinals. Albayrak defeated his opponent, France’s Tizie Gnameien, with ippon and made his name in the final. Vedat Albayrak, who defeated Italy’s Kenny Komi Bedel with waza-ari points, won the gold medal.

On the last day of the Mediterranean Games in judo, Nurcan Yılmaz in the women’s 78 kilos, the Spaniard Lucia Perez Gomez in the first variety, Kayra Sayit in the +78 kilos; Mihael Zgank (90 kg) and Mert Şişmanlar (100 kg) are in the men’s direct quarterfinals, Münir Ertuğ (+100 kg) starts with the Croatian Marcel Skalec in the first class in the competition.
