Giants defeat the Cariduros and stay alive in the BSN

Los Carolina giants achieved an important victory this Sunday by beating the Fajardo Cariduros by a score of 96-90 to stay alive in the fight for the pass to the postseason of the National Superior Basketball (BSN).

Carolina plays for 13-18 in the season, which places them in fifth position in group B, half a game behind the Mets of Guaynabo (13-17). The Giants need to win their last game against the Grays of Humacao this coming Tuesday and a Mets loss to secure fourth place in Section B.

Guaynabo has one game left against the Cowboys from Bayamon (21-9) and another against the San German Athletics (15-13).

Fajardo, who is still unranked and has no more games, concluded his season with a 15-17 record.

The match was defined in the last quarter, when Carolina worked an offensive advance 10-3 enough to not look back on the scoreboard again.

Sheldon Mac led Carolina’s offense with 31 points, five rebounds and four assists, followed by Tremont Waters with another big night of 20 points and 10 rebounds.

For the Fajardeños, Archie Goodwin scored 21 points, followed by Alex Abreu with 17 points.

Tomorrow, Monday, there are four games on the agenda when Guaynabo visits Bayamón, the Mayaguez Indians do the same with the Pirates in QuebradillasHumacao plays against Santurce Crabbers and the Ponce Lions are measured Captains in Arecibo. All games start at 8:00 p.m.
