fundraiser to pay tribute to the player who died after an illness during a match

Fundraising to create a basketball court named after Haitem Fathallah, the Fortitudo Messina player, who grew up in Agrigento, suddenly passed away last October at the age of 31 after an illness while playing a game, has started.

“In order for the memory of Haitem to always remain alive, we would like to create, in his memory, a basketball court on the San Leone seafront”: this is the message launched by the promoters of the initiative that is developed on the web, through the “GoFundMe” platform to which everyone can access to pay a free fee.

The last, yet another greeting to Haitem: the “good giant” passes by the Palamoncada before going to the cemetery

“Haitem – writes Chiara Tartaglia, organizer of the collection – was a special person, one of those who rarely meet in the course of a lifetime. He was a sunny and always smiling boy, humble, caring and sincere, with a good soul and a kind disposition. Haitem was born in Agrigento. He has been loved by all the teams he has played basketball with over the course of his career. His passion for basketball was contagious and made his teammates want to be better every day. The sudden death of him – continues Chiara – has left an immense pain and an unbridgeable void to his family, girlfriend, friends and all the people who loved him. The structure, built through the collection, will be a public pitch, with free access, in the spirit of Haitem, to give everyone the opportunity to become passionate about the sport he loved so much “. At the moment the campaign has already exceeded 5,800 euros in donations.
