After two months of oblivion in the MLB regular season, the Pennsylvania franchise decided to remove the experienced strategist from his duties, after two seasons.

Well, finally the Phillies used their social networks to, along with confirming the departure of Girardi and his assistant Bobby Meachamannounce that his successor will be Thomson, who will take over on an interim basis until the end of MLB 2022.
