Julien Fournier confided in the columns of L’Equipe concerning the season carried out by OGC Nice. The leader of the Riviera club did not regret having sought Christophe Galtier a year ago, even if he was not convinced by his work. He also opened the door to a departure from the native of Marseille to PSG.

However, he didn’t regret his choice to go for Galtier as Nice’s new coach. “If I put myself in the context of last year, I take the same decision,” estimated Fournier, who qualified his remarks affirming that “You never know a person until you’ve worked with them”. If in the eyes of the director of football of Nice, the team knew how to perform thanks to “individual feats”he missed a “force collective” at the Riviera club. So without even L’Equipe mentioning the subject, Fournier geared up on his own on a possible departure of Galtier to PSG.
“I am like you, I read. But he’s under contract (until 2024, editor’s note), it’s a reality. So he is more likely to be in Nice than not to be there”, recalled Fournier. “Afterwards, if Paris-Saint-Germain comes, and it’s a decision that I obviously can’t take alone, when you have this type of club that comes to get one of your players or your coach, it it’s hard to say ‘no'”, he claimed. PSG, still on the hunt for a potential successor to Mauricio Pochettino, shouldn’t drag on too long, however, according to Fournier: “Each passing day makes the task of Paris-Saint-Germain more difficult, because we have to move forward for next season. If they want it, they must not delay (..) SIf Paris-Saint-Germain want Christophe Galtier, he must not wait too long, otherwise it will be more complicated for him”.
