SANTIAGO.- The Wolves of Príamo Franco Street and Pedro M. Hungary divided the first two matches of the final series, of the Plaza Valerio Basketball League, where the Trapiche Liquor Store Cup is played.

The first match favored the Wolves with a score of 68-59, with the field of the Plaza Valerio park bursting with fans who are supporting this event in the La Joya sector.

The second match was extremely close, where Pedro M. Hungary managed to tie the series with a tight 88-86 victory.

The third match of the final agreed to 5-3 will be played next Thursday at 8:00 at night, on the floodlit field of the Plaza Valerio park.

The tournament, which is organized by the Fe y Esperanza Neighborhood Board of La Plaza Valerio, has a special dedication to Mrs. Minerva Martínez, mother of the glory of Santiago Basketball Tony Sánchez.

Prior to the start of the final series, a ceremony was held with the presence of Mrs. Minerva, the parish priest of the San José de las Montañas church, Fray Inocencio Sánchez, and the minister of the church, Príamo Reyes Martínez.

The priest Sánchez praised the tournament and gave a blessing so that it continues to develop with the good behavior of the players and leaders.

“It is good that these types of healthy activities such as basketball are carried out, so that our young people invest their time with quality,” said Fray Sánchez.

José “Cheo” Pérez, promoter of the event and main sponsor through Trapiche Liquor Store, had words of praise for both the athletes, leaders and organizers of the Fe y Esperanza Neighborhood Committee.

Finally, Mrs. Minerva Martínez, to whom the basketball championship is dedicated, was invited to perform the honorary kick-off, thus leaving open the final stage of the successful event.
