The abbey of Fontaine-Guérard, located in Radepont in theYourwill be at the party this weekend. Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 June 2022make way for the 6th edition of medieval.
Historical reconstruction companies, craftsmen and merchants will invite the public of amateurs and enthusiasts of medieval times to immerse themselves in this universe, in complete health safety of course.
Fights, market, entertainment
This weekend, visitors will relive the days of Middle Ages. Thirteen companies of historical reconstitution will present their camps showing the life of this time with demonstrations of weapons, crafts, cooking, blacksmithing…
Theatrical performances, fights, demonstrations will punctuate these two days at medieval time.
About twenty craftsmen and merchants will bring the medieval market to life.
Not forgetting the entertainment for children with the fun castle, the little squires, archery and games.
medieval banquet
For gourmets, a wood-fired roaster will be present and a shop offering homemade drinks.
Saturday evening, a large medieval banquet will take place from 8 p.m., served outside or in an airy room of the abbey (depending on the weather).
On the menu: welcome cocktail with hypocras, cider and Clairet, lenticula salad, pork pâté with homemade chestnuts, ham, duck and chicken on the spit with camelin sauce, apple and wheat turnip purée, assortment of three cheeses and its salad, cinnamon apple pavers and its compote.
This banquet will be animated by the troupe l’Épée d’Aymeric offering juggling, balancing and an introduction to medieval dances.
Access to the banquet will be by reservation (adult banquet rate €40, child up to 12 years €20).
Medieval festivals at the abbey of Fontaine-Guérard on Saturday June 4 and Sunday June 5, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. (entertainment from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
