End of the adventure for Evelyne Tschopp

Evelyne Tschopp says stop. The Judo Club Cortaillod resident has decided to put away her kimono and put an end to her sports career. The Baloise leaves behind her a list of achievements that commands respect: a bronze medal at the Summer Universiade in 2015, two other bronze charms at the European Championships in 2017 and 2018 and participation in the second round of the Olympic Games. of Rio in 2016, still in the lightweight category in less than 52 kg.

Difficult decision

But between a few physical glitches and the end of her medical studies, the decision to leave international competitions behind was imposed.

Despite these arguments, the decision to end her career was not easy to take for the Baloise who, until recently, had the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in her sights.

Evelyne Tschopp therefore puts judo aside to focus exclusively on her last medical exams scheduled for August. But, she assures her, the member of JC Cortaillod will continue to fight sometimes for fun. /gjo
