Double bronze for the European Cadets in Porec 2022

This weekend was full of judo competitions.

Internationally:

  • Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam 2022 in Mongolia from 24 to 26 June
  • from 23 to 26 June in Croatia, in Porec, the European Cadet Championships
  • on 25 and 26 June in Bosnia Herzegovina the Banja Luka Junior European Cup 2022

While at the national level:

  • Saturday 25 June in Bassano del Grappa (VI) the International Grand Prix of Veneto for junioners and seniors
  • Sunday 26 June in Massa Martana (Pg) the Veterans Grand Prix and the Italian Team Championship

Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam 2022

Italy took part in the Grand Slam in Mongolia with only two athletes: Leonardo Casaglia and Giacomo Gamba (both -81 kg).
Both lost in the first round to Erdenebayar Batzaya (Mgl) and Jooyong Lim (Kor) respectively.

L’Italia he did not score any points by ranking 24th out of 30 nations.

European Judo Championships Cadets Porec 2022

Individual competition

Italy participated in the individual competition from 23 to 25 June with: Rebecca Valeriani (-44 kg), Sofia Mazzola and Alessandra Rocco (-48 kg), Michela Terranova and Gaia Massimetti (-52 kg), Gaia Stella (-57 kg), Serena Maddaloni and Stefania Pede (-63 kg), Serena Ondei (-70 kg), Emiliano Lattanzi (-50 kg), Alberto Tripepi and Giulio Muzzi (-55 kg), Antonio Esposito and Francesco Sampino (-60 kg ), Federico Bosis and Federico Ninfo (-66 kg), Lucio Tavoletta and Salvatore Mazzola (-73 kg) and Tommaso Perfetti (-81 kg).

Italy has conquered:

  • 2 bronze medals con Gaia Stella (-57 kg) e Serena Ondei (-70 kg)
  • 4 fifth places con Rebecca Valeriani (-44 kg), Michela Terranova (-52 kg), Francesco Sampino (-60 kg) and Federico Bosis (-66 kg)
  • 6 seventh places con Sofia Mazzola and Alessandra Rocco (both -48 kg), Serena Maddaloni and Stefania Pede (both -63 kg), Emiliano Lattanzi (-50 kg) and Federico Ninfo (-66 kg)

General classification

European Cadet Championships 2022 for Teams

On Sunday 26th June the competition was in mixed teams with 14 nations present, with the categories: -48 kg, -63, +63 female and -60 kg, -81 kg and +81 kg male.

Italy competed with: Sofia Mazzola and Alessandra Rocco (-48 kg), Serena Maddaloni and Stefania Pede (-63 kg), Serena Ondei (+63 kg), Antonio Esposito and Francesco Sampino (-60 kg), Tommaso Perfetti (-81 kg) and Emiliano Rossi (+81).

Italy competed against Austria. He has won two fights with Alessandra Rocco (-48 kg) and Francesco Sampino (-60 kg)but lost four matches, thus ending the 2022 European Championships.

Banja Luka Junior European Cup 2022

In Bosnia and Herzegovina 24 nations competed in the Junior European Cup, including Italy with only 2 athletes: Sara Corbo (-63 kg) and Valerio Accogli (-66 kg).

Both ranked al fifth place.

Sara Corbo (-63 kg) he won the first round with Darija Stojanovic (Bih) while the next match, in the quarter-finals he lost to Auchecorne (Fra) and, in the final for the bronze he lost to Lili Vit (Hun), thus remaining at the foot of the podium .

Valerio Accogli (-66 kg) he passed the first round, he lost the second round to Boyan Yotov (Bul) and was fished out, he won with Vasileios Briolas (Gre) while he lost to Maxime Moundanga (Fra), also finishing fifth.

  2. Poland (3-3-2-4-4),
  3. Hungary (2-0-7-5-1)
