Dinamo Sassari | From Diop and Treier to the quintet: the search for confirmation continues

A double choice that answers the coach’s question of continuity Bucchitwo confirmations that make that concept of planning so dear to the president of the Dinamo Sassari Stefano Sardara. The multi-year contract renewals for Ousmane Diop e Kaspar Treier were two of the first goals of the Sassari 2022-2023 season. He choices that many island fans hope will be a positive impulse for who, how Robinson e Withhas not yet resolved its reservations about its future.

Growth
An improvement impossible not to notice over the course of the year. Ousmane Diop e Kaspar Treier with the passing of the minutes on the parquet and with clear tasks they found more and more security after a slow start between physical problems and first important responsibilities. Diop, after an injury and a knee operation that slowed his insertion and forced him to spend more time adapting to the A1 level, showed that the choice made by Sassari more than four years ago was not not at all wrong. From the arrival of coach Bucchi onwards, the 2000 class has taken more confidence with the painted, working with more confidence near the iron and above all he has become key on some occasions on a defensive level, given his skills in thecome out strong e stick up for even away from the iron. Improvements that have become crucial especially in the adaptation period of Miro Bilancompared to which the young Senegalese was able to offer different characteristics and an impact but still important even during the playoffs, especially against Brescia. The series with Milano was more complex, but in gara 2 at the Forum, the best match of biancoblù in the semifinal against the Red Shoes, Diop was one of the best in terms of attitude and more. Signs that bode well for the future, as well as those shown by Treier in the second part of the season. Mostly used by five tactical coaches Cavinaeven with some positive results, the Estonian winger did not have much continuity of use in the first period of the Bucchi era, also thanks to the great period of Bendzius. Little by little, however, the Estonian has regained confidence thanks to delineation of a certain role on the roster: to be the replacement of the Lithuanian and not to make him feel his absence, sacrificing himself above all in defense and rebounding, without losing confidence in his own shot. The minutes thus began to rise again starting from the return match against Vanoli Cremona and the numbers have grown both in the regular season and in the playoffs. Compared to last season’s playoffs, for example, Treier played almost six minutes longer on average (5.4 vs 10.6), having more chances of helping offensive level with his best weapon – the shot from ‘ bow, 55.6% in the playoffs – but also to rebound – more than due per game.

Future
That leap in quality necessary to face the hottest phase of the season was therefore made by the two young biancoblù, who thus both earned the renewal until 2024. A choice also desired by the players themselves, as evidenced by the words of Diop, who made it clear how the presence of coaches influenced the decision. Piero Bucchi: “The relationship with coach Bucchi was also decisive in my choice, with whom I had a wonderful discussion on the path taken and on what I could do as a team. I will restart even more charged to be ready for the resumptionIn fact, the man who had returned to Senegal after nine years to visit his family told the Dinamo Press Office. After the two renewals of the youngest, and with the bench that sees the spot of the backup playthe GM Pasquini and the biancoblù coach will have to concentrate above all on the quintet of the future, in which at the moment there is the only Bendzius. Miro Bilan and Gerald Robinson are the two main thoughts, with Dinamo who will then also have to concentrate on choosing a small forward who can collect the legacy of Burnell and on one guardia with stitches in the hands. Efforts to hold back l’asse play-pivot I’m not a mystery. Starting from the foundations built over the last year would probably be the most important blow for the Sassari club. The seasons of both players have caused the market to flourish and question, in Robinson’s case, the previous agreements. The former Chemnitz has a renewal option expiring on June 30th: a contractual adjustment will probably be needed, as also reported by Slices of Orange, to see it again in biancoblù. An agreement that could arrive within the next three days, as reported by Giuseppe Sciascia di Superbasket. For Bilan, on the other hand, the road is uphill but not impossible. The will to keep the native center of Sibenik remains, as stated by the president Stefano Sardara in recent days in La Nuova Sardegna. However, everything does not depend only on the biancoblù club.
