INDOSPORT.COM – The Danish players reacted uniquely when they heard the story of the attempted bribery that happened to the legend Taufik Hidayat during the 2006 Asian Games celebration.

The 2004 Athens Olympic champion is telling the story of what happened when she was a guest at a podcast titled Badminton Experience episode 25.

At that time a number of Danish badminton players, such as Anders Antonsen and Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus as hosts, threw a number of questions to Taufik Hidayat.

Then in a session, Anders Antonsen asked about Taufik Hidayat’s best moment. Hans-kristian Solberg Vittinghus snatched that in 2006, Taufik Hidayat had won the 2006 Asian Games gold.

Then Taufik Hidayat told his sad story when he was offered to give up by one of the Malayisa team officials ahead of the 2006 Asian Games semifinal against Lee Chong Wei.

“There is a funny story, I don’t know if you have read the news or not,” said Taufik Hidayat, launching the Youtube Badminton Experience.

“(The story) about match fixing in Doha (Asian Games 2006). Manager Lee Chong Wei came to my room in the morning, and we talked,” he continued.

“He said, Taufik, how much bonus do you receive if you get a gold medal (Asian Games?), you already got gold at the 2002 Asia Games in Busan, while Lee never got it.”

“I want you to lose to Lee, so I will give you two, three times the bonus you received,” continued Taufk Hidayat.

Hearing such stories, Anders Antonsen and Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus were made to comment. They continued to listen to Taufik Hidayat’s story at the 2006 Asian Games.
