Maradona came to Spain after the 1982 World Cup from Boca Juniors as the most expensive player in the world – for 7.3 million US dollars. Diego was not lastingly happy in red and blue (despite good performances). To be remembered: brutal fouls against the magic dribbler, permanent differences with coach Udo Lattek (who later freely admitted: “Maradona cost me my job”), a Spanish cup win, a Spanish Supercup win, a Spanish league cup winner, spectacular goals. And the move to Napoli in 1984. There Maradona became a god.
