Confirmed: Tomáš Pekhart is leaving Legia Warsaw! Will he head back to the Czech Republic?

And it’s final – Tomáš Pekhart is already officially leaving Legia Warsaw. After two titles won and one crown of the king of shooters, it is so clear that his pilgrimage in the capital of Poland is over. But where could he be heading now?

Pekhart came to Legia Warsaw on February 10 from the Spanish team Las Palmas and it was the second club after Nuremberg where the native of Sušice settled for more than two years.

The 33-year-old striker played a total of 89 matches in the colors of Legia across all competitions, in which he scored 38 goals and assisted another 4. You can see his best moment in the Warsaw shirt in the Twitter post below.

However, Legia has now confirmed his departure and Pekhart can look for a new job. Where they will head is the big question at this point. Could he return to the Czech Republic? Currently, rather, as far as the best three teams of the Fortuna league are concerned, they all already have their quality in the forward position.

Not long ago, Sparta brought the arrival of Jan Kuchta to a successful end, Pekhart does not fit Slavia’s concept very well. And in addition, they have Václav Jurečka and Stanislav Tecl at their disposal, Ivan Schranz or Yira Sor can also jump into the attack.

Viktoria Plzeň recently brought forward Jan Kliment from Wisla Kraków. Well, objectively speaking, let’s not look for a great probability of Pekhart’s transfer to Baník or Slovácko either.

However, the end of Pekhart in the Legion was talked about several months ago, and during that time several speculations have already appeared. The former striker of Slavia or Jablonec was reportedly interested in the MLS, but as a free agent, Pekhart will have no shortage of offers.

It should be noted that Pekhart has changed many clubs so far and tried engagements in Germany, Greece, Israel, Spain and Poland.

With Legia, he became the league champion twice, specifically in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, while in the second mentioned year he became the top scorer with 22 goals. Last year, however, he was not very successful. Pekhart scored “only” nine goals and Legia even fought for salvation. In the end, she placed tenth in the final standings.
