Many football fans will never forget his collapse at the European Football Championship last year. But Christian Eriksen is playing football successfully again – and lives with a little more ease.
Dhe Danish national player Christian Eriksen takes life a year after his collapse at the European Football Championship with more ease. In many ways, the 30-year-old feels the same today as he did before the dramatic moment in Copenhagen. But: “I’m probably even more relaxed and I’m ready to give more in other ways,” the midfielder was quoted as saying by the Danish news agency Ritzau on the anniversary. “I’m more “laid back”, even if I wasn’t stressed before.” Of course, he looks at some things differently today than before June 12, 2021.
Eriksen suddenly collapsed on the pitch with cardiac arrest in Denmark’s opening game against Finland in Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium. Rescuers had to revive him while Eriksen’s teammates shielded the dramatic scene from the outside world. The rescuers ultimately saved his life. Eriksen had already returned to the Danes selection in March.
At club level, the midfielder has played for Premier League side FC Brentford since February. His contract there expires at the end of the month. According to media reports, well-known clubs are vying for the Dane, with Manchester United in particular said to be interested in Eriksen.
