Chloé Devictor, a Var judoka wins bronze at the Mediterranean Games

Still a junior, Chloé Devictor (trained at JC Castellet) finished third in -52 kg this Wednesday at the Mediterranean Games in Oran.

She has just won one more medal in her young career. Chloé Devictor, born in La Seyne-sur-Mer and trained in Le Castellet, won bronze in the – 52kg category at the Mediterranean Games yesterday afternoon in Algeria. On the tatami mats of Oran, the 19-year-old judoka beat Moroccan Soumiya Iraoui, thanks to two waza-ari, after 5’42” of combat during one of the two small finals.

Two battles before gleaning the metal

The Varoise had to go through the repechage tournament after her defeat on ippon at midday in the quarter against the Spaniard Ana Isabel Perez Box. After this disappointment, Chloé Devictor was able to pull herself together to win two battles before her final winning fight.

In February, she also brought home a bronze medal at a senior European open in Warsaw, Poland.

It should also be remembered that in the fall of 2021, she was crowned junior world champion. A title which notably allowed her to be elected “Var sportswoman of the year 2021” by the readers of Var-matin. With his young but real accumulated international experience and his room for improvement, his prize list is likely to grow even more in the coming months.
