14 players traveled to the Asturian city where they won six gold and two bronze medals, proclaiming themselves one of the most successful teams in the sporting event.
CD Badminton Laguna has achieved eight podiums at the XI Open Ciudad de Gijón. For this championship, 14 players from the club traveled to the Asturian city. In an intense day they added six golds and two bronzes. This tournament held during the weekend of May 28 and 29 has become one of the best of the season for these athletes.
The individual gold medals went to Isaac Martín in IM B1 and Ángel Sánchez in IM Abs. In pairs, it was also achieved by those formed by Ana Esther Martin and Paola Vallelado, in DF 15; Miguel Delgado and Mario Sobradillo, in DM 19; Isaac Martín and José Manuel Bartolomé, in DM B1; and Ana Esther Martín and Daniel Balboa, in DX 15. The bronze medals went to José Manuel Bartolomé in IMB1 and Daniel Balboa in IM15.
From the club they wanted to give a special congratulations to Ana Esther Martín and Isaac Martin for their gold double. Also to the rest of the players for their involvement, effort and for everything they enjoy about the sport.
