Brose Bamberg extends Bundesliga basketball with coach Amiel until 2024

The nine-time German champion announced this on Thursday evening (May 12, 2022). The 50-year-old Israeli had already signed his new contract in February. The Franconians meet Alba Berlin at the start of the championship playoffs this Friday.

Outstanding identification potential

“His honest manner, his emotions on the sidelines and the respect for Bamberg’s basketball history offer every fan an outstanding potential for identification. That’s why we decided in February to extend the contract with him early in order to plan the new season together with him early on to be able to,” said Managing Director Philipp Galewski.

Amiel took over the post from Johan Roijakkers at the beginning of December 2021. Previously, he was active as a head coach in Israel and the Czech Republic. “I’m very happy that I can continue to be the head coach of such a traditional club. I think we’ve brought the fun of basketball back to Bamberg in the last few months and we’ve made the team and the fans a unit again,” said Amiel.
