“Boé lights the flame”: sport in all its forms

Today Saturday, June 25, the city of Boé “lights the flame” and invites you to participate in this new event.

It’s D-Day to discover the brand new appointment of the Boétienne event programming: “Boé lights the flame”. Organized in Cancelles in the heart of the sports plain of the town, this free event open to all has been designed for all ages and all audiences.

Frédéric Saint-Béat, municipal councilor for sports, summarizes the operation: “A day that brings together all the sports that can be practiced in Boé. It’s a sporting event but also a friendly and family one. So that everyone can try our sports!” Ok, we light the flame but why? Turn your gaze to the town’s Olympic ambitions and more specifically to the archery club. “Our regional archery center has been certified as a Games preparation center as part of Paris 2024. Excellent news that allows us to work on welcoming a foreign delegation that would come to prepare for the Olympic events here. in Boe”.

“To show that Boé and sport are one”

But before aiming to welcome potential Olympic champions, the Boétiens want to show that sport and the city are one. “We have more than a dozen associations, which work with expertise every day to develop their sports. They take place within facilities that make us proud and for which we do not hesitate to invest. it’s about showing that Boé and sport are one”, says Pascale Luguet, mayor.

Saturday from 2 p.m., all the sports associations will offer visitors the opportunity to test their sports. A team challenge of 4 people (mixed and with children) will win prizes.

The sports present will be: football, basketball, pétanque, archery, ultimate, taekwondo, judo, MMA, circus, hiking, pétanque, tennis, voluntary gymnastics and Golf. With “Boé lights the flame”, the city is in tune with the Olympic Games and intends to highlight the wealth of its facilities and the know-how of its clubs.

The day will start at a run in the Montalembert park. Children aged 2 to 6 (at 10 a.m.), teenagers (at 10:30 a.m.), adults (at 11 a.m.), go running or walking and support associations around the Grande Traversée des Pyrénées project by Boétien Frédéric Burgot.

From 2 p.m., in Cancelles, free entry and participation.
