SAN DIEGO (AP) — Kyle Schwarber hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh inning and the Philadelphia Phillies rallied to beat the San Diego Padres 8-5 on Sunday, a day after losing indefinitely to the San Diego Padres. NL MVP Bryce Harper with a broken left thumb.

Harper was injured when he was hit by a pitch from left-hander Blake Snell in Philadelphia’s 4-2 win Saturday night. The slugger, who has had a breakout season playing mostly designated hitter because of an elbow injury, is expected to see a specialist after the Phillies return home.

San Diego’s Yu Darvish came out of the game with a 5-3 lead after striking out a season-high nine in six innings. But reliever Nabil Crismatt (4-1) couldn’t hang on after getting into trouble leading off the seventh. Bryson Stott walked, Matt Vierling singled and Schwarber, the leadoff hitter, sent a 2-1 pitch into the left-field stands to take the lead.

Schwarber also had an RBI double in the second for the Phillies, who have won three of four.

For the Phillies, the Venezuelan Odúbel Herrera 4-1 with a run scored.

For the Parents. Colombian Jorge Alfaro 4-0. Dominican Nomar Mazara 2-1 with a run scored. The Venezuelan José Azocar 4-0.
