Enthusiasm and important placements for the students of the Copernicus high school who have developed a series of excellent results during the last edition of the Student Championships. Archived the two-year suspension due to the effects of the pandemic, albeit with some limitations in order of participants and disciplines, in 2022 the exciting competitions in which students compete with fellow students from other institutes, through groups, provincial selections and regional badminton, chess, orienteering, athletics, beach volleyball and tennis. An event that this year involved many high schools in Prato and a total of over 400 students. Two first places earned in the regional phase for the students of the Copernicus high school who won the highest step of the podium in the discipline of beach volleyball and in that of chess, sports of the mind and thought. In the competitions held on the sand of Viareggio, the team of male beach volleyball students composed of Pietro Manetti, Federico Postiferi, Mattia Mascolo and Mattia Ricchiuti not only obtained the first place but also won the ticket for the national final scheduled from 19 to 23 September in Roseto degli Abruzzi. Equally good results for the female team which achieved fourth place with Sara Pezzuoli, Ilaria Cirillo, Ginevra Corsi and Camilla Romagnoli; accompanying the group was the teacher Elisabetta Manetti Copernicus regional champion also in chess with a first place that marks a clear path of 10 out of 10 overwhelmed in the students category by the students Alberto Centamore, Andrea Albertazzi, Davide Bencini, Massimo Nicholas, Carmine Scarpa and Federico Lenzi. They do not pass the regional final, but also the students Mattia Ricchiuti and Cecilia Castellani get important placings in the orienteering discipline. The student championships are organized by the Regional School Office for Tuscany in collaboration with Sport and Salute SpA, the Italian Paralympic Committee (Cip), the national sports federations recognized by the Coni and the Cip, the Regions and local authorities.
