Basketball/Elan Béarnais. “We will settle all the problems before the DNCG” assures David Otto

Last December, when we were talking about the prospect of a heavy deficit for Counterpointe Sport Group (CSG)’s first year at the helm of Elan Béarnais, one of the club’s new owners, Greg Heuss, assured that the investment fund based in Seattle (United States) would meet its commitments.

This is the same message that the co-shareholder of CSG sent us by email, this Wednesday, June 1. While the Elan, which will post a record deficit at the end of the season (between €2.5 and €3 million), must soon go before the national management of the League’s control and management, Greg Heuss and David Otto, the CEO of CSG, assure that they will not let the club down.

“There have been multiple erroneous information or which do not correctly describe the financial situation of the club which have been published, comments Greg Heuss in his email. CSG has been committed to Elan from the start and will remain so. David Otto, founding president of CSG, will come to Pau on June 18 to meet the shareholders to correct this information and to answer their questions and concerns”.

CEO David Otto holds the same conciliatory speech: “We will solve all the problems before the DNCG, he says. We are 100% behind the team and invested in its success. This transaction (Editor’s note, the buyout of the shares held by the city of Pau) and the transition initiated have caused some turbulence but we are in the process of putting in place for the team, the staff, the finances, the supporters and the strategic partners , the conditions for success”.
