Basketball – After the departure of Jackson-Cartwright: Bonn gets shorts

Bonn (SID) – Only two days after the departure of key player Parker Jackson-Cartwright, the Telekom Baskets Bonn from the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) have closed their gap in the playmaker position. US point guard TJ Shorts (24) comes from league competitor Hakro Merlins Crailsheim, the Bonn-based company announced on Wednesday. The club did not provide any information on the contract period.

With an average of 20.6 points, Shorts was the best pitcher in the BBL main round, just ahead of Jackson-Cartwright (19.3), who was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. Shorts had to end his season early after 21 games because of a pectoral muscle injury.

“Finding a very good playmaker has been immensely important in recent years and we have now succeeded again with TJ. He has already gained experience in the BBL and international competitions and at the age of 24 has already made an impressive career path,” said Bonn coach Tuomas Iisalo.
