The two games of the baseball student league 1 between the Aalen Strikers and the Tübingen Hawks last Sunday (June 26) in the sports center in Rohrwang were extremely exciting. On the first home game day in 2022, the young baseball players of the Sportallianz sold expensively and had the opportunity to win their first win of the season against the guests from the Neckar in both games.
In the first game of the day it was still 4:4 before the last inning, only in the final spurt did the youngsters from Tübingen win the game 7:4.
The second game was even more exciting after a half-hour break in hot summer conditions, in which the Strikers already had the winning point in mind at 6:6 on 3rd base in the last part of the game, but the Hawks just before the third out achieve and thus avoid defeat. In the extra time, the Tübingen youngsters proved to be a little more awake and were able to bring home one more point and thus also win the second game.
Nevertheless, the progress of the Aalen youth team is unmistakable. A first victory was within the realm of possibility on Sunday. Maybe that will succeed in the next two home games next Saturday (July 2nd) against the Gammertingen Royals, the game in Rohrwang will start at 11 a.m.
