Gareth Bale confirmed what was an open secret and will not continue at Real Madrid. The Welsh footballer’s contract ended on June 30, but he did not want to wait any longer and has announced that he is leaving the white club after nine seasons and a handful of titles, including five Champions Leagues.

«I arrived nine years ago to fulfill my dream of playing for Real Madrid. I look back and can honestly say that I have fulfilled it, and much more, “says the ‘Welsh Express’ in a farewell letter. “I will never forget what we have achieved.”

The footballer acknowledges: “Being part of the history of this club and achieving everything we have achieved together at Real Madrid has been an incredible experience that I will never forget”. Finally, he says goodbye to the fans and the club with an emotional “it has been an honour. Thank you! GO MADRID!”.
