Aveyron judokas participated in the 3rd Departmental Challenge in Sévérac

Le Severac Judo Club organized on Sunday May 15, the 3rd round of the Departmental Challenge. Within the gymnasium, on 250 m2 of carpet including 4 combat zones, nearly 160 young judokas from Aveyron competed against each other.

The grandstand was very well stocked with parents who had come to accompany and support their offspring. The office of the Departmental Committee was present with its President, the secretary and the treasurer, Christian Javelot, member of the Sévérac club. The arbitration tables were supervised by Remi Callenational sports commissioner and teacher at the club.

Were also present as referee and sports commissioner, Laetitia Fenelle.

On the four tables, the arbitration was mainly provided by practitioners from Millau, La Cavalerie and Sévérac. The young fighters came from the basin of Decazeville, La Cavalerie, Millau, Montbazens, Rivière-sur-Tarn, Rodez, Salles-Curan, Villefranche-de-Rouergue, and Sévérac.

The morning was devoted to the 74 registered youngest who, by weight category, fought in pools of 4 participants. After the lunch break, 85 chicks met in hens according to weight categories.

For the chicks as the youngest, the rules are adapted and beyond the competition, this type of meeting takes on an educational dimension thus, all the points scored or the faults noted during a fight are the subject of an explanation by the central referee.

After the competition followed the podiums and the medals awarded by category.

Annick Caronpresident of the Judo Club of Sévérac concluded by emphasizing that this day was a great success in compliance with the judo code and thanks to the financial support of the Departmental Council.
