Athlete nutrition support project activity report
―The 1st Baseball Club Nutrition and Physical Condition Survey in 2022―

In the Department of Health and Nutrition Athlete Nutrition Support Project, we are implementing a project to learn and practice nutritional support for female athletes. On May 3, we conducted a nutrition and physical condition survey for players in the baseball club of Komazawa Gakuen Girls’ High School.

This was the first nutrition and physical condition survey this year. The last measurement session was held in October last year, so it will be the first survey in about half a year for baseball players. In addition, it will be the first time for new students.

We measured height, weight, body composition, and bone density in the training room of our university. In between the measurements, we asked you to answer a questionnaire to understand your usual eating habits, physical condition management, and injuries. The athletes responded promptly, so we were able to finish the measurement earlier than planned. We plan to create a return sheet and return the results to the players at a later date.

Impressions of participating project members

  • Some players were injured, and I wanted to be able to casually listen to the condition of the injuries and the situation of the players.
  • It was impressive that the athletes were more interested in their measurement results. I felt that it was very important to know my physical condition because it could be reflected in future exercises.
  • I was able to measure in a good atmosphere while communicating well with the players.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the baseball teams who participated and the advisors who cooperated with us.
