Archery exponents, in the Hera Tournament

Several of the main exponents of Latin American archery met yesterday for the start of the fourth and last season of the Hera International Tournament, in the space of that sport in Tamanché.

Archers of the stature of the Mexican Olympic medalist Aída Román; Sara Lopez, from Colombia; José Marcelo del Cid, from Guatemala, and Juan Pizarro, from Puerto Rico, are among the main references of this competition at Club Hera.

The objective of the event, according to Ernesto Lugo Sánchez, director of the Hera Archery Club, is that local athletes have the opportunity to face great figures in this discipline, such as the renowned archers who are at the Merida police station. in search of blank to compete in upcoming events, including the Conade Nationals.

About 20 athletes per category signed up, with a purse of 40 thousand pesos to distribute, so goalkeepers also arrived from Campeche, Quintana Roo, and Yucatan, representatives of the clubs La Inalámbrica, Máxima, Kaax Jalal and the host Hera.

Carlos Sáenz Castillo, director of the Sports Institute, and Miguel Navarro, director of High Performance, with Lugo Sánchez, led the opening of the event, which will have its awards on Sunday, according to an official statement.
