The municipalities of Sainte-Marie-Salomé and Crabtree are uniting to allow their citizens to recycle glass and expanded polystyrene (styrofoam).

Crabtree announced last week the installation of two dedicated styrofoam recycling bins at 51 4th Avenue near the baseball field and BMX track.

Moreover, the polystyrene project is a first in Lanaudière and few municipalities in Quebec currently offer this service.

As for Sainte-Marie-Salomé, it has been offering its residents the possibility of recycling glass since 2022 at 690 chemin St-Jean.

To recycle glass, users must remove the lids and the containers must be rinsed and sorted according to their color. As for polystyrene, food containers, building materials and packaging supplies are accepted.
