This noon, Governor Juan Schiaretti congratulated the players, coaching staff and directors of the Alta Córdoba neighborhood club. Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba defeated Quimsa, from Santiago del Estero, in a hard-fought final, by three games to two. And in this way it became the only team in history to win a final match in the final as a visitor.
Schiaretti received at noon at the Civic Center of the Bicentennial, members of the professional team, coaching staff and directors of Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba, brand new champion of the National Basketball League.
The Alta Córdoba neighborhood institution obtained the 2021/2022 edition of the main Argentine basketball competition, by defeating Quimsa, from Santiago del Estero, in the fifth and decisive match, by 85 to 84. The series ended three games to two, in favor of the Cordoba club.
The governor during his greeting said, “for the people of Córdoba it is a pride that La Gloria is the national basketball champion. And today we are all in La Gloria basketball”, he also added “They gave us great joy and have made us feel proud”.
In this way, Instituto reached the highest national basketball award in the 38th edition of the National League and was crowned the only team in history to win a final game of the series on the road.
The conquest of the national basketball title marks the end of an unforgettable season for “la Gloria”, who had already won the “Super 20” tournament in October of last year.
Likewise, in the 2018/19 season Instituto had reached the Argentine runner-up.
From the club, they also expressed their satisfaction with the victory. In that sense, Juan Manuel Cavagliatto expressed, “we are proud to represent this province. It was an unforgettable championship. We are going to continue along the same path that we have been traveling for 10 years with the basketball project representing our Córdoba”.
