According to media reports, FC Bayern Munich has signed Sadio Mané from FC Liverpool for 32 million euros plus bonus payments.

According to consistent reports from the “Bild” newspaper and the “Kicker”, FC Bayern Munich sealed the change from superstar Sadio Mané after a long back and forth. He was therefore given a contract until 2025.

FC Bayern Munich’s million-dollar poker game for Liverpool’s star striker Sadio Mané now seems to be over. Bayern’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic was in Liverpool for talks because Bayern really wanted to bring the 30-year-old international from Senegal to Munich.

Sadio Mané’s transfer was given high priority

At the request of the German Press Agency (dpa), there was initially no confirmation from the Bavarian side of an agreement that had already been circulated. Before a transfer can be completed, Mané would also have to complete the obligatory medical check-up with his new employer. A transfer fee with a total volume of around 40 million euros was initially discussed.

Mané’s transfer was a priority for the German serial champions, because an implementation could also bring about change in the personnel of Robert Lewandowski, 33, who must leave FC Bayern a year before his contract expires. The goal of the Polish goalscorer is FC Barcelona. So far, however, there is still a statement from the Bayern management around CEO Oliver Kahn that the world footballer will not be allowed to go this summer.

Lewandowski’s contract in Munich, like Mané’s in Liverpool, expires on June 30, 2023. Coach Jürgen Klopp’s club initially thought a transfer fee of £42.5 million, the equivalent of EUR 49.75 million, was reportedly a reasonable transfer fee. Bayern had agreed to work with the attacker early on. A three-year contract is under discussion for Mané, who could also play in the center of attack, where Lewandowski has been active so far.

According to media reports, Liverpool had rejected the first two Bayern offers for Mané. Most recently, there was talk of a further improved offer. According to the “Bild” newspaper, this should be a fixed fee of 35 million euros and five million euros of possible bonus payments. This amount would total the almost 40 million euros that Liverpool paid to Southampton FC for Mané in 2016. The “Reds” have already found a replacement for Mané with the just completed million-dollar transfer of striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica Lisbon.
