«To the city of… Barcelona». The words spoken by Juan Antonio Samaranch in 1986 announcing the decision to grant Spain the organization of the 1992 Games forced the authorities to design a strategic plan so that the event would not be a sporting fiasco. He devised the ADO plan (Aid to the Olympic Athlete) with which Spanish athletes found an economic cushion to focus exclusively on their Olympic preparation. Thanks to him the sky was touched, with those 22 Barcelona medals that have never been equaled, and to touch it again and surpass that success, the Team Spain Elitewith which the Government intends to promote the second revolution of the national Olympic sport.
