The bad news in the preparation of 1. FC Magdeburg just doesn’t stop! After goalkeeper Dominik Reimann’s (24) hand injury and top scorer Baris Atik’s ligament strain (27/out for seven to ten days), Luca Schuler (23) has now also been hit! The striker tore his syndesmosis in training on Tuesday and will need an operation.
The result: the twelve-goal man from the previous season is out for several months and FCM is suddenly without a real centre-forward because Kai Brünker (28) is still in rehab with the same injury. Since Florian Kath (27 / Achilles tendon) is also on a break with an injury, the second division promoted will probably have to work twice on the transfer market.
