WTA – Rome > Swiatek: “We only have three or four clay-court tournaments, and only two of them are played on ‘normal clay’

Before facing Sabalenka, and trying to win for the 27th time in a row, the Polish player made a point of stressing that the circuit was quite strange since there were ultimately very few tournaments to prepare properly for the meeting at Porte d’Auteuil.

“Here in Rome, I feel like it’s the slowest surface on the circuit. Of course I have to adapt. Honestly, we only have three or four tournaments on clay, and only two of them are played on “normal clay”, because in Madrid there is altitude, which is pretty crazy anyway »
