Qualified for the second round in the Italian capital after a very tight victory against Kaja Juvan (7-5, 4-6, 7-5, in 3h05 of play), Yulia Putintseva did everything to keep her nerves, she who is known for her explosive and sometimes excessive behavior on the court. Questioned by the WTA after this meeting, the naturalized Kazakh player admitted that she was not at all the same once she dropped her racket. A double personality that has followed her since childhood.

But he too sometimes had too much character. We both had a difficult character when we worked together. But outside, it was a lot of love and moments of relaxation. We never argued off the pitch. But all the time on the court. »
