Who saves today, loses money, says investor Margareta Křížová

Margareta Křížová started as an assistant brewing coffee, after all, she graduated from a hotel school. Eventually, however, she co-founded and built a successful financial firm. She was one of the investors in the TV show D-Day, which helped Czech Television viewers understand what they are and how startups work.

Today, Margareta Křížová works as a freelance consultant and is an occasional investor in smaller projects. At the time of the covid, she returned to television as the host of a show that teaches financial literacy. Which may be useful at a time of fear of the economic crisis. So I asked her, among other things, where to invest – whether in bitcoin or gold.

We talked about the fact that when a person looks a little different than others, it is often a problem, but it can be an advantage for life. And also how for almost 40 years he has lived alongside a man whose profession is diametrically opposed to anything related to business or finance. Vratislav Kříž is an opera singer with a number of roles abroad and in the Czech Republic, including the State Opera and the National Theater.

And, of course, I asked what technologies fascinate her, what she enjoys most about, and how she happens to make videos from the kitchen on Facebook from time to time, even though I originally thought I’d only find her on a reputable professional LinkedIn network. And especially how in today’s polarized and nervous times she managed to come to the admirable realization that it is good not to have an opinion on everything.
