The Vienna Wanderers continued their winning streak in the Baseball Bundesliga. The still undefeated leader of the East Division celebrated a narrow 3:2 home win over the Traiskirchen Grasshoppers in the Friday night game.
The Viennese turned the game in their favor in the sixth inning, and the two teams will meet again on Saturday.
The Vienna Wanderers remain unbeaten after the seventh game of the season, but the Viennese had to work hard for success in the Friday night game against the Traiskirchen Grasshoppers. The guests from Lower Austria took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Pitchers Daniel Walenta and Tobias Kiefer dominated the game with strong performances, but both teams still managed a run in the third inning.
It remained 2-1 for the guests until the sixth inning, when the Wanderers took the lead for the first time with two runs. In his first pitching assignment in the first division, Lennard Halper was able to keep the Grasshoppers’ offensive in check with 3 strikeouts. In the last inning too, the guests from Traiskirchen were unsuccessful against the Wanderers’ youngster, who was able to make his first save with another strikeout. Second match day in the Softball Bundesliga
The second day of the season in the Softball Bundesliga is on Saturday and Sunday. It comes to a duel between the previously undefeated Vienna Wanderers and Witches Linz. Both teams prevailed in both games on the opening weekend. In addition, the Dornbirn Indians duel with the Crazy Chicklets Wiener Neustadt.

The Dornbirn Indians and the Crazy Chicklets Wiener Neustadt started the new season with two defeats each. The Indians lost to the Witches Linz 5:6 and 2:14, the Crazy Chicklets had to admit defeat in the new edition of the final against the defending champion Vienna Wanderers with 0:12 and 13:21. In the past season, the Lower Austrians clearly had the upper hand in all four direct duels with the Vorarlberg women. In all encounters they only had to give up six runs.

The Witches Linz got the upper hand in both duels against the Dornbirn Indians (6:5 & 14:2). Both teams faced each other six times last season. In the regular season, the Wanderers had three wins and the Witches had one win. In addition, there was a duel between the women of the federal capital and the women of Stahlstadt in the semi-finals, in which the Wanderers prevailed 3-0 and 7-0.
